I wanted to do a song that was uplifting, rejoiceful-that would reflect their personalities. Well I decided that I wanted to do a song about my friends. This is why, despite the song’s elegiac theme, it remains a uplifting, joyous track. Jackson confirmed in an interview that she doesn’t believe that life definitively ends when someone dies.
